SIR system is a unique opportunity exclusively available at Nissan in which we find distinguished researchers from outside the company to participate in innovative research which could bring a drastic change in the automobile industry. The project budget will be handed out based on the research topic and you are expected to deliver top level of research result during your contract period. As for the reward, you will be paid a basic salary plus incentive payment that varies based on your research or the success of your project. (The incentive payment is unconventional prior to original compensation structure) SIR system was first introduced in 2012 and continues to contribute in Nissan`s innovative research and development area.
SIR holds an individual rank at Nissan, apart from its original R&D business leaders, function leaders, and expert leaders. SIR is expected to utilize the network established between experts outside the company and contacts throughout the industry to sincerely engage in innovative research subject you have proposed in order to successfully deliver a research result which brings a drastic change to the automobile industry. You will also be required to report your research progress or accomplishment in front of SIR council and will be responsible for proving the mass production of the proposed innovative technology or business feasibility. SIR member will be an iconic figure to lead Nissan`s forefront research who will be making proposal to the top management and will be playing the role of nurturing Nissan engineers/ researchers in the area of expertise.
- A person who meets the following criteria and is capable of proposing/ exploring innovative research subject with sincerity.
- A leading expert who has knowledge in areas of technological expertise and is capable of proposing innovative research topic that could deliver drastic innovation in automobile industry and has the network and ability to prove the realization of the research within the contract period.
- A person who already has a notable performance at a company or a research institution of high level research accomplishment by collaborating with both internal and external stake holders involving the project throughout the project.
- A person with a degree in PhD or knowledge equivalent to it, and possesses a strong network related to forefront technology field.
